The
Future of the
PILOT PROJECT "HANDMADE BOOKS:
Expression, Repair and Economic Alternative"
2003-2005
|
As
of September, 2004, the Pilot Project "Handmade Books" will
now move ahead under the guidance of the Coordinator of Productive Groups
in conjunction with Gabriela Barriga, the coordinator of the Women Miner's
Plan, who will assist the different mining districts interested in forming
productive groups to organize and self-promote their goals.
The possibility of future workshops dedicated to expression, writing, drawing, hard-back book repair, etc. will depend on the goals and processes established by each productive group. The Women Miner's Plan has funding through to the end of 2005. It is our intention that by then, there will be independent groups functioning on their own, using the knowledge of book binding, book repair and expression to fulfill the overall goals of the Pilot Project "Handmade Books": VOICE, IDENTITY, ECONOMIC ALTERNATIVES. There will also be individuals who will choose to make and repair books on their own, as opposed to participating in a productive group. These individuals will always be included in further expression, bookbinding, book repair, etc. workshops that are organized. |
